BEST OPTION: How To Get From Kalibo To Boracay Island
How To Go From Kalibo To Boracay
There are always three steps in this journey.
First, you need to get from Kalibo Airport or Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty. This is an overland journey by bus, van or taxi.
From Caticlan Jetty, you can take the boat across to Cagban Jetty on Boracay Island. You then take a tricycle or other transport to your hotel.
The best option is to buy a transfer from Klook which covers all these steps in a packaged deal. It’s a great price and makes it super easy to get from Kalibo Airport to your hotel in Boracay.

Step 1: Van From Kalibo Airport To Caticlan Jetty

The first step is to take a van from Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty.
You can arrange your van transfer in advance (find options here) or when you come out of the airport, you’ll come across stalls where different tour operators offer a transfer service.
These transfers take you to Caticlan Jetty where you can take the boat across to Boracay (step 2 coming up).
You can book just the van, combine the van and boat, or book the entire journey from Kalibo Airport to your hotel on Boracay.
This is an excellent option to save stress on arrival. Keep in mind that if you book on arrival at the airport, some of the operators may add a commission to the original price so you end up paying more.
Booking online in advance can help you avoid this kind of situation.
The Kalibo to Caticlan van fare is about ₱450. This step of the journey takes 1.5 – 2 hours.
Vans are usually timed to meet flights so you shouldn’t have to wait too long for the next one.

Alternate Step 1: Bus From Kalibo To Caticlan

Alternatively, you can take the local bus. This option can work best if you are staying in Kalibo or arrive here from somewhere other than the airport. You could also take a tricycle from the airport into town to take this bus.
Buses leave from the Kalibo Ceres Bus Terminal on Osmeña Avenue. They depart approximately hourly and take around two hours. The fare is around ₱120.
Since Boracay is an island, you can’t take a bus to Boracay itself. You are looking for a bus to Caticlan.
Step 2: Boat From Caticlan Jetty To Boracay

Once you have caught a bus or van to Caticlan, it’s time to take a boat across to Boracay. This can be a small bangka or a bigger boat.
This can feel a little overwhelming as Caticlan Jetty can be very busy with many people taking the same journey.
Boats run when full. They depart frequently to Boracay from 5am to 8pm. Outside of these hours, there can be a wait until there are enough people for a boat.
The fare is made up of the following:
- ₱50-100 for the boat ticket
- ₱150 for the terminal fee
- ₱150 for locals and ₱300 for everyone else for the environmental fee.
These are all per person fees.
You can purchase your ticket at the port or in advance. You can find ferry tickets here, but it is much better value to buy your ticket with your van transfer from Kalibo here.
Another option is to charter a private boat. The fare starts at ₱1,000 during the day or ₱2,000 – 2,500 during the evening. You still need to pay the terminal and environmental fees.
Boats arrive at Cagban Jetty on Boracay. They only take around 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Cagban Jetty To Your Hotel On Boracay

The final step of your journey is to get from the jetty on Boracay to your accommodation.
Cagban Jetty, where you arrive, is at the southern end of the island and usually not that close to where you’ll want to stay.
From here, you can take a tricycle to your accommodation. Depending on where you’re heading, this usually costs about ₱150-300 per ride. If you want to take a more budget-friendly option, take the multi-cab at only ₱50 per person.
You could also try to arrange a transfer with your hotel.
